This is definitely a comforter that was made for summer. Very light weight and comfortable. The material is similar to what sleeping bags are made of, or at least that is what it reminds me of. This is absolutely the perfect comforter for those who sleep hot. Ive been using it for a few nights now and I have to say it's almost too chilly! Looking forward to the hot muggy nights coming soon!
This blanket is actually really comfortable. It is lightweight but has a good thickness to not miss a quilt. It's great for warmer seasons but still give the feeling over being snuggled in a thick blanket. Breathable and airy, it's a nice color and style with its grooves/ridges.
My first night using this comforter, I had to toss it off the bed because I got too hot. I already have a set of cooling sheets on my bed, and a very light weight blanket. The combination of all three was too much. I believe to get the full benefit of the cooling effect, you need to use it alone, without any other bedding. I am a stickler when it comes to using a top sheet to keep blankets and comforters clean. You'll also need to have a fan running to circulate air over the comforter, or it gets warm like a normal comforter would. Also, I ordered the king size, for my standard king mattress, and it was a bit small. The product photos show the comforter with the stripes going horizontal, I tried that first and there was only about two inches of overhang on each side. It fit a bit better with the stripes going vertically. I prefer the look of horizontal stripes, so I was bummed about that. I did wash the comforter before putting it on my bed, and it washes well.
I am somebody that doesn't get that cold but I do like to have a cover on at night. in the warmer months I typically use a sheet but now that these types of blankets are out these actually help keep you cooler than even using a light sheet. this blanket has two different sides to it one is a silky smooth surface and the other has a little bit more of a textured design pattern. obviously I think you are intended to use just the silky smooth side so you know which way is what. I have another one of these blankets that almost feels like it is a piece of material that is folded over on top of itself and sound along the edges. this blanket actually feels like in a way like it is quilted or something. it's still provides the same cooling effect as my other blanket but it does feel a little higher end. it does have a bit of a chemical type smell to it so definitely wash it when you get it but it is packaged nicely and has nice ribbon around everything. so far I am really enjoying this especially since it is bigger and actually cost a little bit less than getting a larger size of the one that I initially got. while they aren't as cheap as a fleece blanket or other comforters for somebody that gets warm at night or when they sleep I think they are a must-have. also would make a great gift for somebody.
For starters, this comforter is very thin. Which, I appreciate because I am a hot sleeper. I got the gray and it is really pretty and I like the seersucker detailing. I do find the outter material to have a cool to the touch feeling, especially if you have the AC going in your room, this does kind of grab onto the coldness. The only downside to the fabric is that it is super slick, so the blanket slides around the bed a lot. It falls on the floor really easy in the middle of the night.
